Timing is the key with SEO

Any of the search engines worth their salt are operating in real time. This means that content is always changing and new pages gain dominance around strategic key phrases in a constant flow of, hopefully, quality information!
Yesterday was May Day Bank Holiday and under the normal run of things a popular day for shopping and looking for bargains. Obviously, in the current climate, most of us are preferring to go for a walk with the family and buy the odd ice cream rather than fund a £100 plus expedition to Legoland or similar. On Sunday evening I loaded up a story entitled: “May Bank Holiday Online Marketing Offer” and under that search string within a few minutes of launch our story was proudly in the top spot. So what! I hear you cry, how many people will search May Bank Holiday Online Marketing Offer? And I can retort, in my best Paul Daniels voice, “Not a lot!” But I bet some folk out there were searching “May bank holiday offer” ( for which we featured 4th) and if not real punters, I bet newly qualified “mad for it” marketing chaps will have been listening out for what other offers were being made out there on a sunny bank holiday in May. And that meant that because our story featured as part of the Business in Berkshire news it was therefore in Google news... the phone hasn’t rung just yet but a few key people will have spotted us within from within the online cloud and will be keen and eager to see what we come up with next... well you can dream! Either way, timing is key with SEO. Tuesday, bank holiday is over, we’re back to the office and May Day Bank Holiday is over for another year and so is the value of the SEO for that day!
