It is very important to be TOP of the first page of the search when it matters.
Last night was the first auditions for X Factor. We, the family, love all the hype, the drama, the excitement of the show because we love to see real people giving of their best... and we also like to see the tantrums!! As the show was running I made a few notes and put together a home page for the micro site and then, as the show finished, popped over to the X Factor website and ran a few searches to gather more info and links. The key here is to be front and centre when the world is interested and since this was the first audition, the world is interested today... and Sunday with the re-run but then after that the activity will die down until next weekend when a couple more budding No 1 artists will take to the stage and entertain us. There will be one or two more special acts and we’ll be interested in them for the weekend. Since we run Business in Berkshire, it doubly makes sense to follow the “main star” of yesterday’s show and that was Danyl Johnson, so by giving the story the title Danyl Johnson looking good on X Factor, we led with his name and related it to the main programme... so making it obvious who we were talking about. Using his name in the first line re-enforces the whole SEO factor and hey presto we land a top position. Because our news get featured by Google and our article was relevant with links to other sites, reinforcing its value to the reader, Google put us front and centre which meant that yesterday evening 156 people found our story by searching Danyl Johnson and a further 11 using Danyl Johnston. There was probably a bunch that searched Daniel Johnson but you can’t win them all!
